What a dill I have been. I have totally missed an opportunity to engage with people already seeking me out! I am the first to whinge that the phone companies etc work harder to get new customers than to work with their existing ones. I found this short but sweet ebook very inspiring. I have only done selling as a part time thing, but the principles are relevant for me. Thanks. Sure there are self promotion links in this, well that is the examples of the book in action. I am not insulted, I totally get that there is an opportunity to sell more to a customer that is already at the "counter". I am so a hedgehog! Yep, as a customer I do have very hedgehog behavior and sellers have reaped the rewards from me if they work on it. My mind is ticking over with ideas on how I can implement these principles. This ebook has been absolutely good value. You can buy books on selling and formatting and prettying up your listings, and you can spend a lot of time wading through waffle. Short and sweet with two very strong ideas that certainly had me thinking "why didn't I already do that!"
Here is another helpful and motivating 'sales secrets' book from author Dale Calvert. I have read several of his other offerings, and always find them to contain ideas i'd overlooked, or wasn't aware of previously. This is an easy to understand and well organized read to help you launch a more successful eBay campaign. I am in the process of expanding my small business to the internet after a year of local 'word of mouth' and trade-show sales, and this book is just what I needed to start hitting eBay like a veteran. I was particularly fascinated by the chapters covering package inserts as lead generators, and the correct ways to use them. I can't wait to start implementing some of these techniques in my own business.
I used to be a pretty active seller on eBay and have gotten away from. Have been recently thinking about getting back into eBay when I came across this book.
What an eye-opener! This book may be short but the ideas it present are worth a fortune! Dale presents 2 great ideas that could vastly increase your profits on eBay without selling more. Plus he includes links to videos to clarify the ideas. I will be implementing both these ideas when I reenter the eBay marketplace.
The ideas presented in this book are worth their weight in gold! This book has changed the way I look at eBay!
I love reading books on eBay I learn something new all the time! This guy Dale writes a lot of them. He has a lot of books out on Marketing etc. He seems like a pro so I gave this a try. I learned a few things and for a buck I say thanks. If you liked this book you would enjoy How to eBay in Real Life (For a Living)and also Barcode Booty How I found and sold $2 million of 'junk' on eBay and , And you can, too, using your phone. This one was not as good as the other two, but still good. It's not a typical eBay book at all it's about Marketing. Driving customers to something else? What that something else you'll have to decide? Lot's of waiver's and disclaimers in the first several pages. More than usual???
When I buy a book, I expect to get a book, not an infomercial. This consists of two plausible ideas, buried in a ton of self promotion and insulting adds for the writer's online training program, which costs two hundred dollars. You should pay money for this?
Let me be clear about what I find so offensive. The writer has some experience. He knows that margins have compressed, the platform companies have raised rates and aggravation, and a pathetic amount of money will qualify as a "master seller". His reaction is not to broaden the playing field, but to double down, and try to extract the last dime from those who are still selling honest physical goods.
If marketing hype and online training were the answers, we would know that by now. Such is not the case. Best wishes and good luck to you and yours. You will need it in this dreadful economy.
How to Double Your EBay Profits is an excellent little book for EBay sellers who are looking to make some more money. As you begin to read this book, Dale Calvert's introduction is direct and specific this book is not for casual EBay sellers but for hard core, in-it-as-a-primary-source-of-income sellers. Knowing that from the get-go, the rest of this book is a practice in understanding. Calvert's tone, though as some points slightly condescending, is simply honest these systems have worked for me, I want you to make money, try these systems out and you will make money. His desire to help the hard core EBay seller is genuine. Though I'm not an EBay seller as of yet, this little book will definitely come in handy in the future. Word of caution READ IT CAREFULLY AND APPLY THE PRINCIPLES MENTIONED. Otherwise, this book will be of no use to you. A great read, quick and to the point.
